Pure bred Poultry by the Tuckers

Silkies are my favored breed. I am Sally Tucker and I have been breeding Silkies since the mid 1980's. I breed the colors White, Black, Buff, Partridge and Silver. I am very particular when it comes to choosing a Silkie to breed with.

Silkies are basically a flightless bird due to the osprey or delicate feathering. They are a large light breed not a bantam as some people think. They are very environmentally friendly. Are an asset to the garden as unlike some breeds they generally don't rotary hoe but fossick for pests.

I have had some wins over the years that have had great meaning to me.  But winning isn't everything and as work commitments are great I don't attend too many shows. Silkies are a lot of work to keep clean and prepare for each show.  In 1995 the year of the VPFA Silkie award  I won with a team of great birds. Since I have won numerous major awards over the years.  Out of one of my silkies was the best Silkie at the 2009 Royal in Melbourne.   I can pick a good Silkie and breed with perfection of the breed in mind.
