Pure bred Poultry by the Tuckers

Indian Game Large we have owned and bred since the mid 1980's.

These are a heavy bird not for the faint hearted. The males weigh around 5 kilos and the females 2.5kg and up.

They are a challenge as they aren't the easiest to breed as there are such problems as infertility, aggressive behavior, fighting in the males and over protectiveness in females when mothering.  However they are an attractive bird especially the females with their lacing.  This makes them an auto sexing breed. The males like to fight but slow down with age.  We have been showing a four year old cock bird who is extremely agile.  We have birds who roost high  in the trees at night.  They make  thunderous sound when they land out of them. The ground moves.

Our most notable win was Best Indian at the Victorian Indian Game show. We have had some very good repeated show wins over many years right up this show season.

Indian Game Bantams we have had for many years as well. We had some good show wins.  Including best Indian bantam from a large field of a dozen shown against a well known Indian breeder.
